Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $119,600.00 - $199,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

As a Lead ServiceNow Software Engineer, you will guide the delivery team in secure software engineering, focusing on the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of ServiceNow applications. You will work cross-functionally to understand business requirements, architecture, and technology direction, evaluate alternative approaches, and ensure ServiceNow features and stories are designed accordingly. You will incorporate state-of-the-art concepts and practices to enhance system functionality, scalability, resilience, security, and ease of use (developer/user experience). Agile principles will be applied to software development, emphasizing the delivery of business value, collaboration, continuous improvement, and sustainability. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Lead team efforts to design, develop, test, and document complex ServiceNow applications. 

Support multiple teams by providing sound technical and procedural guidance and solution development. 

Collaborate with analysts, peers, and stakeholders to develop highly complex systems. 

Estimate software development tasks with predictable variances, given specified functional and business requirements. 

Evaluate secure coding practices and tools, recommending and driving improvements. 

Define and recommend metrics to improve quality, cycle time, reliability, and other key factors. 

Present system alterations and designs to peers and colleagues. 

Provide technical and procedural guidance to fellow team members, adjacent teams, and other relevant stakeholders. 

Skills: 

Ensure adherence to relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices. 

Participate in reviews of your own work and lead reviews of colleagues’ work. 

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 

Experience with Agile application development practices. 

Proficiency with ServiceNow development tools, including Studio, Flow Designer, Service Portal, and Virtual Agent. 

Expertise in building and managing Scripted REST APIs for external system integrations. 

Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Application Development, including creating and maintaining custom applications. 

Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow development, using tools like Git is a plus. 

Strong skills in JavaScript, Glide Scripting, and API Development. 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 18 years’ experience in a related field.

Certified in ServiceNow system administration and/or application development (CSA, CAD). 

Preferred Qualifications: 

ServiceNow Micro or Implementation Certifications. 

Agile Certifications.
