Lead Software Test Engineers
Location: Novi, MI (Detroit, MI area)
Duration: 6-12 months

Desired candidates located in Detroit area, office will be in Novi, MI.
Looking for some expertise in domains below, not just general SW test experience.
Expectation is 3-5 years of domain experience in Navigation/ Connectivity is desired, but candidates with any domain experience will be considered.
Position Summary: Performs white/ black box software testing for one of features/systems below:
· Navigation features (Map View, Destination Input, Route Guidance, Positioning, Traffic Event, etc.)
· Systems features (audio arbitration, HMI, peripherals, vehicle configurations, vehicle bus signal analysis, etc.) for one or more infotainment projects.
· Voice Recognition and Human User Interface features. Experience with using Voice recognition logging tools is desired.
· Connectivity features (Bluetooth automotive profiles, Wi-Fi, Embedded phone, etc.). Experience with using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Sniffers is desired.
· Tuner features (Tune, Seek, Scan, Station List, Favorites, etc.) for Analog, HD, SAT, and DAB for one or more infotainment projects.
· Media devices and their features (USB, IPOD, AUX, SD, Rear seat entertainment, etc…) Experience with using logging tools is desired.
· For various communication systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, eMOST, etc.) and their various diagnostic protocols (UDS, KWP2000, etc.) Experience with using CAN/Diagnostic logging tools. (J2534, CANoe, etc.) is desired.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Performs software white/black box testing (i.e. validation) for Apps, BT/Connectivity, Speech, HMI Framework, Navigation, Tuner, Vehicle Interface, Net/Diagnostics domains on automotive infotainment modules.
- Execute automated test scripts using common scripting languages at both unit and system level for connectivity/media/networking and diagnostics/navigation features.
- Applies specifications, user guides, use cases, comparable products, and previous known bugs to create and maintain test plans, test designs, and test cases.
- Identifies software issues and transfers problem issues into the issue tracking system with supporting log files and data.
- Records, processes, and analyzes data with PC based tools and test instrumentation.
- Documents testing and creates test reports. Follows CMMI guidelines for creating and maintaining test documentation.
- Identifies product requirement or performance issues. Work with software teams and/or partners to implement solutions to meet those requirements.
- Performs setup of modules/wiring and maintains test benches and test vehicles appropriately.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Computer Engineering/science or Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 3-5 years executing test cases, automation scripts in an embedded environment, preferably in automotive infotainment or consumer electronics.
- Working knowledge of technology, tools, and test methods for infotainment.
- Test management tools.
