This is a non-union positionThe Solar Technician Lead is responsible for ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of solar equipment and Balance of Plant (BOP) at Orange Grove Solar.
This role is a lead within the Solar Plant Technicians, requiring a high degree of expertise. The individual in this position will possess specialized knowledge necessary for conducting both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on solar assets, with the objective of improving uptime and production. Strong leadership skills are essential for this role.

What You Will Do:
As an Advanced Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance and maintenance of our solar assets through a variety of assigned tasks
Responsible for the completion of scheduled and standard work, such as regular maintenance activities
Troubleshooting both basic and advanced solar-related issues, ensuring that any problems are swiftly and effectively resolved. You will also be tasked with completing asset integrity inspections, as well as handling unscheduled work, ranging from minor to major tasks.
A key component of your responsibilities will be electrical switching of solar electric panels and the utilization of SCADA to support the required work. Your expertise will be essential in leading support activities related to the Balance of Plant and civil work
As a Technician with advanced capabilities, you will lead a team of Technicians in the execution of various tasks. This includes assisting in training staff and ensuring that all team members are well-equipped to handle their duties effectively
Who You Are:
You possess a college degree in electrical field or minimum 3 years as a Red Seal 309A Electrician with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Advanced skills in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, asset integrity inspections, and SCADA. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Windows programs and SCADA.
Dedication to safe work practices, including LOTO. Successful completion of training (first aid, CPR, AED, OSHA-30 preferred).
Proven problem-solving and time management abilities.
Ability to collaborate and follow supervision patiently. Integrity, initiative, work ethic, safety, and focus on quality.
Maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair PV solar equipment (DC and AC). Adhere to schematics and electrical codes. Available for emergency events.
Valid driver’s license.
The successful candidate will undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to a 5-year driving record, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.
Pay scale range - $74K-$100K annually based on experience and education

Physical requirements:
Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
