Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Provides assessment and therapy to individuals in the area of clinical licensure. Also provides education to patients appropriate family members and friends in order to restore patients functional independence and reduce or prevent long term disability. Assists the patients to reach their maximum potential and return to their family and community. Coordinates with other disciplines and implements the programs of the Therapy Department under the general direction of the Health and Rehabilitation Leadership Team. Works collaboratively with the leadership team to ensure that all therapy targets are met. Responsible for supervision of therapy associates under the direction of the therapy leadership team. Oversees daily department operations to ensure that performance standards are being upheld. Works collaboratively with the leadership team to uphold the mission and values of the organization and the guiding principles. Participates and collaborates in the evaluation of clinical competence and performance evaluations of therapy associates.


Qualifications

Minimum:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a licensed therapist in physical disabilities setting preferably in acute care or acute rehabilitationCurrent and valid speech therapy license, according to the laws of the State of California (LIC SLP)Current AHA BLS (CPRBLS)

Preferred:

Leadership experience.Clinical advancement or specialization.
