Position Summary

Performs dish/pot-washing duties as directed. Exhibits knowledge of commercial dish machine procedures and preventive maintenance (P.M.) standard practices. Accountable for clean and spot-free dishware and cutlery Is responsible for following the correct handling and management of all chemicals.

Performs dishwashing and pot washing duties on commercial dish machine, as directed. Monitors preventive maintenance (P.M.) on dish machine and pot washing areas. Performs other shift duties in kitchen or storage areas, as needed. Reports any violation of policy or unusual tampering to Food and Beverage Director. Ensures dishes/pots are properly stacked and meet Isleta Casino and Resort standards of presentation and quality. Ensures safety and sanitary laws are strictly adhered to, personal hygiene requirements are implemented and maintained; therefore, any health-related problems are reported immediately to the Food and Beverage Director. Attends regular meetings organized by management, as directed. Ensures that dishwashing staff is productive. Conducts daily safety and sanitation inspections of all food outlets Assists in setup and breakdown of all in-house catering. Follows all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensures uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with others; support team to reach common goals. Ensures adherence to quality expectations and standards. Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. Trains others in all Stewarding related duties Maintains the standards for guest service as established for the company and for the Stewarding position.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma and/or General Educational Degree (GED) equivalent, preferred. 6 months experience in a Lead role, required.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs. Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements. May be required to obtain a Food Handlers license if working in certain venues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Organize cleaning chemicals and supplies. Must be able to read and understand MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) as required by OSHA. Organize supply rack, including pots, pans, serving spoons, utensils, etc. Rotate stock, bringing wares from storage bin or areas into kitchen. Complete cleaning checklists to determine appropriate timelines for cleaning and sanitizing. Collect dirty pans from the cooking line and transport to pot station for cleaning. Clean and maintain sanitation areas and organize cleaning supplies including hanging up mops and brooms. Clean and maintain loading dock areas. Clean ceiling, walls, and vents in dish room. Ensure clean wares are stored appropriately. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dish washing machine, hand wash stations pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model.

Physical Demands and Work Environment. 

Must be able to regularly lift, move, push, pull, and/or manipulate heavy objects weighting up to 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, and crawl. Must be able to climb ladders. Must be able to constantly walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in, both, a Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level, and exposure to various lights and sounds.  Possible expose to hazards, Blood Borne Pathogens, and unusual elements such as: dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Moderate exposure to dangers and physical risks that may require the use of personal protective equipment (PEP) and may occasionally be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.
