Position Summary:

The Information Technology Department is seeking a Lead Systems Administrator to join the Core Technology Services team. This individual will build and support enterprise IT systems infrastructure and services across US Fertility's multiple sites, data centers and cloud environments. This position will play a key role in facilitating the organization's rapid growth by ensuring that new systems and technologies are selected and implemented in an optimal manner, and that existing systems are well-maintained.

Our current opportunity is based in Rockville, MD or Remote and will report to the Director of Core Technology Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Build and maintain systems infrastructure — including compute & storage Manage the day-to-day operations of the core technology systems infrastructure Troubleshoot issues as they arise — participate in root cause analysis and work to prevent future occurrences. Lead efforts to evaluate, test, and introduce new technologies and approaches* Create detailed documentation of current and planned systems Monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security Develop and maintain architecture requirements, evaluation of candidate cloud services, metrics, supporting documentation, and final reference architecture documents* Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems on an on-call rotation basis Act as an escalation point for junior staff and the Advanced Operations team Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities as needed Track issues and maintain adherence to existing change control and escalation processes Lead project efforts through full lifecycle, including requirements gathering, scoping, implementation, and operational handoff Provide input on architectural decisions made across the team
