ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hunt Electric is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Infrastructure Lead Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure while ensuring its scalability, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with expertise in network systems, server administration, cloud services, and IT operations.
+ Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
+ Design and deploy robust IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud environments.
+ Lead large-scale upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects to ensure seamless transitions and minimal downtime.
+ Systems Administration and Maintenance:
+ Manage and monitor on-premises and cloud-based systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
+ Oversee patch management, firmware updates, and routine system maintenance tasks.
+ Network Operations:
+ Configure and maintain LAN/WAN environments, firewalls, VPNs, and other network-related infrastructure.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and connectivity issues efficiently.
+ Security and Compliance:
+ Implement and enforce IT security protocols, policies, and best practices to safeguard company data and systems.
+ Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal regulations, and internal audit requirements.
+ Team Leadership:
+ Act as a technical mentor and provide guidance to junior team members and peers.
+ Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure initiatives with business goals.
+ Vendor and Partner Management:
+ Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with third-party IT vendors and service providers.
+ Ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met and maintain documentation of vendor agreements.
+ Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
+ Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IT infrastructure.
+ Lead recovery efforts during incidents or outages, ensuring rapid restoration of services.
+ Strategic Planning:
+ Identify and implement opportunities for infrastructure optimization, cost savings, and performance improvements.
+ Stay informed about emerging technologies and make recommendations to improve IT systems.
$110,000 - $140,000 + discretionary bonus + employee ownership + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
+ 8+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure engineering, including leadership or senior-level roles.
+ Expertise in:
+ Windows and Linux server environments.
+ Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
+ Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
+ Networking (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls).
+ Storage systems (e.g., SAN, NAS).
+ Strong knowledge of IT security frameworks and best practices.
+ Experience managing IT projects from conception to completion.
+ Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Preferred:
+ Professional certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNP, VMware VCP, or equivalent.
+ Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform).
+ Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.
