Summary:
Oversees the architecture, implementation, and optimization of systems and cloud infrastructure within Summa's IT department, including oversight for infrastructure vulnerability management and other infrastructure services. This role is crucial in enhancing the hospital's IT operations, ensuring robust and efficient system performance to support patient care and administrative functions. Collaborates with various IT teams, clinical departments, and external vendors to deliver high-quality compute, storage, desktop virtualization, and cloud solutions. Manages and mentors a team of system and cloud engineers.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Formal Education Required:
a) Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2. Experience & Training Required:
a) Eight (8) years of experience in systems engineering roles, with a proven track record in system architecture and managing complex systems infrastructures, preferably in a healthcare setting.
b) Strong experience building and administering cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS (in order of importance) in an enterprise context.
c) Strong experience with implementing and maturing an organization’s infrastructure virtualization (VMWare, Citrix, or Windows/Azure Virtual Desktop) , compute and storage solutions, and enterprise server management.
3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a) In-depth knowledge of cloud and systems engineering, ranging from design, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of enterprise solutions.
b) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
c) Familiarity with healthcare regulations related to patient data and privacy, such as HIPAA.
d) Strong technical leadership skills
e) Deep understanding of systems engineering and cloud technologies
f) Ability to manage and mentor a team of system and cloud engineers.
g) Proficient in creating technical documentation, including system diagrams and architecture designs.
h) Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of guiding and mentoring a team of system and cloud engineers.
i) Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
j) PC proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.).
k) Familiarity with healthcare regulations related to patient data and privacy, such as HIPAA.
l) Proficient in creating technical documentation, including network diagrams and architecture designs.
m) Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of guiding and mentoring a team of network engineers.
n) Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
o) PC proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.).
