Lead Teacher - Part time

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Lead Teacher is responsible for monitoring and providing support to the instructional area, ensuring that teachers are practicing good instructional management.  When Directors are unavailable or not in the Center, the Lead Teacher serves as the point-of-contact for teaching staff and manages Center operations, ensuring a high quality personal customer experience.   The Lead Teacher communicates staff performance, customer issues, and student progress to the Center’s Director(s).  The Lead Teacher also delivers instruction as needed.   

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Manages teachers, tasks and time to create balanced and robust instructional sessionsMonitors staff to ensure teachers deliver instruction as designed and that educational Center policies and procedures are followed Attends to immediate instructor needs, such as requests for materials or assistance with instructionAssumes teacher responsibilities in emergency scheduling or capacity situationsAssists teachers with preparation for instruction; Gathers materials as appropriateObserves and coaches teachers on a regular basisChecks students in and out of the CenterGreets and assists students, parents, and potential customers according to Sylvan standards with particular attention to student safety and well-beingOpens and closes the Center according to procedures, securing all materialsFields inquiry calls, takes payments, updates schedules, and books appointments for DirectorsMakes outbound marketing or other callsEscalates service or other issues that require Director intervention

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Four year degree or equivalent requiredOne to two years teaching experience preferredExperience using Microsoft Office and other standard business applications used by the CenterKnowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phonesKnowledge of tablet computers preferred
