What Operations Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Operations Maintenance is responsible for managing the service life of company assets which is inclusive of physical building and utilities, manufacturing/warehouse equipment and tooling, office devices and physical layout of facility. This responsibility is completed through the management of appropriate internal and external resources as needed to ensure the dependable and safe operations environment necessary for a given Cardinal facility. This group has responsibility for both corrective and preventative maintenance and the necessary systems to manage, schedule and record this activity.
The Automation Technician at the Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) will install, maintain, and replace automation systems throughout the production process, resulting in seamless operations, minimal downtime, and optimal equipment performance. This role will also troubleshoot component parts, including motion sensors, control components, photosensors, and other vital automation and conveyance technology. In addition to maintaining reliable operation, this role will operate as a subject matter expert (SME) for leadership and key decision-makers, delivering reports on current automation capabilities and future opportunities. The Automation Technician will be a part of the overall site Asset Management team with a strong focus on Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and will participate in various Preventive and Predictive maintenance programs.

The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) will be Cardinal Health’s newest Pharmaceutical Supply Chain operation in Groveport, Ohio. Location/Shift
This position will be an on-site position (5 days per week), based out of the Consumer Health Logistics CenterSecond Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pmResponsibilities
Acts as lead mechanic for Maintenance shift team. Primary point of contact for Honeywell technician for day-to-day work activities. Supports/coaches junior mechanics and escalates issues to Maintenance and Engineering Manager as needed.Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Honeywell automation systems, including conveyors, sorters, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), robots, and material handling equipment.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues on Honeywell and other automated systems using diagnostic tools and technical schematics.Monitor system performance and address inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or recurring issues to improve reliability and uptime.Collaborate with the operations team to understand and respond to maintenance priorities and system performance concerns.Inspect and maintain motors, sensors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), drives, belts, pulleys, and other automation components.Utilize Honeywell-specific software and tools to manage and analyze equipment performance data.Follow safety protocols and procedures, ensuring the safe operation of automated systems and compliance with company and regulatory standards.Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and reports, including parts inventory usage and service records.Assist with the installation, commissioning, and configuration of new Honeywell automation systems as needed.Participate in, and coordinate, ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.Champion innovation, simplification, and standardization of current solution offerings, operating procedures, methodologies, and processes.
