Lead Technician, R&D

This position is involving a combination of prototype testing and part measurement. It is well suited for someone interested in contributing toward new product development in the field of medical devices.  The ideal candidate would have previous experience performing tests on and measuring small plastic parts.  Experience with optical measuring systems, such as OGP or RAM are highly desired.  Experience writing test methods and performing tests on prototype or production assemblies will also provide helpful background for the successful candidate.

What Research and Development Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health
Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes.

Research and Development Engineering is responsible for developing and implementing new products through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering and documentation practices.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience, preferred

High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred

Good oral and written communication skills

Relevant training to read part drawings and understand specifications. 

Experience measuring small parts

Experience performing physical property testing, using equipment such as an Instron or Sintech is desired.

Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)

Strong attention to detail

Anticipated hourly range: $30.70 per hour - $43.80 per hour
