Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Building Environmental Technician performs under the direction of the Building Environmental Services ( BES ) Zone Supervisor.
Duties Include:
1. Maintain equipment inventory and repair records.
2. Compile maintenance checklist and report needs to BES Zone Supervisor.
3. Complete individual duties and responsibilities as assigned; check the work of other crew members and correct deficiencies.
4. Test and suggest recommendations on supply and equipment purchases.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. High school diploma or GED equivalency.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, two years of experience demonstrating the ability to operate specialized floor-cleaning or other cleaning equipment and in performing medium to heavy physical work; or three years of experience as a housekeeper; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ High school diploma or GED equivalency.
+ Two years’ experience demonstrating the ability to operate specialized floor-cleaning or other cleaning equipment and in performing medium to heavy physical work; or three years of experience as a housekeeper; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
+ Ability to properly use and care for all manual and power equipment and chemicals required in Building Environmental Services and floor care functions.
+ Supervisory experience desired.
+ Strong customer service orientation.
+ Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension) required.
+ Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication are required.
+ Computer literate.
+ Knowledge and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs required.
+ Ability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds and cultures.
+ Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
