Position Objective:
The Lead Technologist provides leadership by scheduling work, providing training to staff including orientation of new staff, assisting leadership with feedback for staff performance evaluations; providing counseling to staff and recommending appropriate disciplinary action to leadership; and reviewing the work of staff.
Performs routine imaging procedures in accordance with established safety and quality standards and the special needs of patients.

Assists the imaging Manager with coordination of technologists and students to include: interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, coaching, disciplinary action, performance reviews, developmental goals, and department metrics/dashboard and competency evaluations.Assists the Imaging Manager with maintaining regulatory compliance including proficiency testing, preventative maintenance, test validation, and inspections to ensure the department is always inspection-ready.Assists the Imaging Manager with payroll, continuing education, weekly schedules, and other employee records in accordance with AAMC and department standards. As well as ordering supplies and ensuring proper inventories are being met in all offices/rooms. Leads office staff in the absence of Imaging Manager.Assists the management team with departmental coverage, being a point of contact for any department staff member in your designated site or modality. Serves as a point of contact for patient inquires in that modality. Assists manager in communicating policies, procedures and directives; assists team members with questions regarding procedures, policies and directives. Serves as a positive bridge between management and staff.Performs all job duties and requirements listed in the job description of the individuals primary modality – ie: Mammo, MRI, CT, Xray, etc.Educational/experience Requirements: Successful completion of a formal technologist program from an AMA approved educational institution. Minimum of three years’ experience as a staff technologist.
Required License/Certifications:
Current certification with ARRT, ARMRIT, NMTCB or ARDMS. Licensed by the state of Maryland. American Heart Association Health Care Provider BSL CPR certification.
