We are seeking a project manager/technologist to take a leading role in project development as we expand our energy transition portfolio on the West Coast. This opening provides the opportunity to be meaningfully engaged with the development energy transition and utility modernization projects such as: * Energy master planning with regard to decarbonization and resiliency * High voltage transmission, substation, and distribution facilities in the power industry * Hydrogen production, distribution, and end use facilities and projects related to energy, transit, ports, utilities, and maritime sectors * High voltage transmission, substation, and distribution facilities in the power industry * District Energy Systems * Geothermal Energy Systems and Infrastructure * Wind, Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems The desired candidate will have direct experience in delivering projects within one or more of the categories listed above. Demonstrated abilities include a broad understanding of the potential energy transition solutions. Experience in client development, consulting, design, construction, and EPC project delivery will be highly regarded, as will experience in Owner’s Engineer roles or advisory (technical advisor/due diligence) roles, as well as strategic project development experience. Primary Responsibilities: * Manage internal Jacobs teams as well as external subconsultants and contractors. * Work with clients to solve their energy transition challenges and meet their decarbonization goals. * Collaborate with our technical leadership, client account managers, and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance. * Anticipate challenges and manage "up and out" while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery. * Manage client relationships to ensure all expectations are understood and met. Work with the broader Jacobs team as necessary to ensure stewardship of positive client relationships, including active involvement in the resolution of any client concerns. * Monitor assigned projects to minimize risk and adhere to project budget, schedule, scope, and quality, identifying and mitigating risks as they arise. * Lead in developing and pursuing business opportunities with existing or new potential clients. * Support Jacobs operational and business development teams with proposals or other materials for new business opportunities. #epjobs #naepjobs * Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field. * At least 5 years of design, consulting, or project development experience. * Proven ability to engage with clients, develop relationships, and win work, and then deliver innovative solutions providing value to both the client and provider. * Demonstrated ability for higher-level strategic, exploration, concept, and development planning for energy projects, including knowledge and application of new and emerging technologies. * Demonstrated skills in concept and developed design optimization programs to guide sound technical guidance for decision making. * Effective communication and technical writing skills. * Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary project delivery teams. * Comfortable and effective working independently, as well as leading and collaboratively working in cross-functional teams with multi-levels of the organization including owner’s personnel and third-party engineers and contractors. * Willing to travel to project sites and/or attend client meetings. Other highly regarded qualifications include: * Professional Registration * Experience with: * Hydrogen production, storage, and off-loading facilities * High voltage Substations and Transmission Lines * Thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water) * Utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning * Transit, ports, and maritime sectors * Cogeneration or combined heat and power systems * Geothermal power systems * Hydropower or other renewable energy projects This role can be filled remotely, in office, or in a hybrid capacity, but preference will be given to candidates based on the West Coast, specifically California.
