TITLE: Lead Test Engineer

DUTIES: Serve as lead on team responsible for building and maintaining Charter’s middle tier ecommerce ordering channels, including retail and SMB. Participate in backlog planning, sprint planning, retrospectives, and business planning. Review test design documents, test scenarios and test case documents based on user stories, test plan, and detailed business requirement documents. Utilize ecommerce web portals with end-to-end testing. Perform testing of ecommerce API’s using SOAP UI for API/Web services testing. Validate staging database by writing SQL scripts to validate the databases tables for database testing and reports data for backend database testing. Perform QA tasks, as well as allocate tasks to offshore and review tasks. Present demos to business stakeholders involved in the project and obtain their feedback on the product. Attend scrum calls and defect triage calls for updates on CR’s and defects to the application group and other project stakeholders. Analyze risks and track them to closure. Attend QA sign-off meeting by providing covered scope of testing to confirm the overall testing and ownership of the modules and areas tested. Collect project metrics (KPIs) and update management through mail broadcasts and by anchoring meetings with vendor and top management. Test coordination and escalate urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal and client resources. Guide and mentor junior team members.

REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5 years of experience utilizing automation scripting tools including Python, JavaScript, or Ruby; and utilizing Test tools including HPQC or Test Rails. 3 years of experience creating solutions for technical problems; and leading teams or mentoring junior team members. A hybrid (in office and remote) work arrangement is available.

SALARY: $110,261 to $159,400 per year

HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (40+ hours/week)
