Lead Test Engineer

Position Summary:
You will be responsible for leading the test team on NPI development for the neuromonitoring business. You are a key player in establishing the test process and best practices to address business and compliance needs. You will also manage project master schedule and deliverables following the design control process.


Essential Functions:

Implement and monitor structured system testing (manual and automated)

strategies/methodologies

Guide the team on system and sub-system requirement creation & review process to ensure that requirements are actionable, measurable, and testable

Work with development to employ test strategies and tactics on assigned projects and ensure

full execution of the strategy

Lead the team on NPI projects, field issue investigation, and design of experiments (DoE)

Owner of master integration plan, schedule, and deliverables

Drive the process of impact analysis and effort estimates. Represent test team in core team meetings

Close interaction with cross-functional teams and serves as test PoC

Develop, implement, and maintain test methodologies, test plans, protocols, test scripts, test reports and traceability matrices for design verification

Analyzes data from testing activities, interprets results in the context of existing testing data, and prepares clear and accurate technical documentation

Lead the effort of technical design reviews, entry criteria reviews, test execution, test reports, and other deliverables for formal verification

Lead the effort to build reusable test case framework to support positive, negative and boundary testing and avoid redundant test case development

Provide coaching, training, and guidance to minimize procedure errors that may result into corrections and deviations

Create a defect trend analysis to recognize the weak areas of code

Define and measure key progress indicators on requirement coverage, test case effectiveness, Test execution and defect identification and closure

Analyze available data, identify trends, track actual testing progress against the plan and ultimately provide visibility into release readiness and release quality

Publish test metrics

Project management skills are required, including create and maintain master project plan and be responsible for major system integration schedule and deliverables

Create and maintain DHF structure

Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies

Ensures compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related Engineering field

Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience

Self-starter, passionate about surgical procedures and innovation. Demonstrated pattern of self‐

awareness and self-improvement

Experience working in a cross-functional environment with strong influence and ability to

effectively work with various groups within the organization

Experience running the Agile way of working. Lead the effort of sprint planning and backlog

grooming, system demo, etc.

Track record of leading verification efforts for NPI projects with multi-disciplinary team in the regulated medical device industry

In-depth knowledge on verification strategy and-deliverables

Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate technical content to technical and non-technical stakeholders in all levels of leadership

Ability to make decisions independently using sound judgement and operate with a high level of autonomy

Hands on lead. Take ownership and accountability. Being proactive and result-driven

Experience interacting with Health Care Professionals

Project management skills such as setting goals, tracking and driving progress, publishing metrics and making trade-off decisions is required

Previous experience leading and coaching a high performing test-team

Experience leading verification effort in medical device industry, regulated by FDA

Experience managing master project schedule using .mpp. Optimize resource & schedules with multi-

disciplinary SMEs

Experience with complex mechanical design (spine or orthopedics) and/or emerging technologies is a plus
