Job Description

The Lead Test Technician is responsible for testing power converters, transformers, and other electronic equipment with large components. The ideal candidate will not only perform testing but also lead a team of five technicians.

ResponsibilitiesLead and perform high voltage testing (480 Volts) on various electronic equipment.Troubleshoot modules and systems using internal quality applications.Oversee assembly processes and shipping, providing support to team members.Ensure safety protocols are followed, with provided safety training.Maintain and manage testing equipment such as volt meters, multimeters, high pot machines, oscilloscopes, and inductor measurement tools.Perform testing on equipment such as analog, digital, video, logic circuits, components, and instruments.Measure power, signal, and temperature.Review test results with staff and make recommendations on repair, maintenance, and refinement of equipment.Essential SkillsHigh voltage testing and troubleshooting.Experience with power supplies, high voltage (480V), AC/DC conversion.Proficiency with test equipment such as DMM, multimeter, high pot machines, oscilloscope, and inductor measurements.Strong electrical experience with comfort in handling high voltage.Knowledge of AC/DC theory and through-hole circuit boards.Additional Skills & Qualifications3-5 years of experience within an electronics manufacturing environment.Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.Experience in a lead role, managing and keeping an area running smoothly.Familiarity with power supply and inverter.Electronics certification is preferred.Work Environment

You will be working 100% onsite with a team of 140 people in Costa Mesa. The work hours are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Some overtime may be required, typically 1-2 hours per day when busy. The Lead Test Technician will oversee a team of five technicians and report directly to the manager. The company manufactures shore converters and transformers for yachts, marinas, and shipyards.
