Lead Tool Crib Attendant
Virgin Galactic is seeking a highly motivated Lead Tool Crib Attendant with outstanding customer service standards and a positive attitude to play a key role in our organization. Guided by our values, “Safety Above All”, we proactively manage the risks inherent in human spaceflight through our daily actions in the design and assembly efforts You will assist in maintaining an efficient production environment by promptly supplying team members with the proper tools, equipment and supplies necessary to establish and operate the world’s first commercial manned spacecraft production company. Support the company strategy by holding ourselves and one another accountable for getting the work done. **Responsibilities** + Issue tools and equipment to workers and maintain records of tools and equipment issued and returned. + Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory. + Mark and identify tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool. + Inspect and measure tools and equipment for defects and wear, visually or using micrometer, and reports damage or wear to supervisors. + Locate lost or misplaced tools and equipment. + Create lost/broken tool reports that provide supervisors and quality information about the lost/broken tool. + Ensure proper preventative maintenance and repairs, cleans and rebuilds tools, replacing components that frequently wear out. + Maintain and service Ground Support equipment on a scheduled basis E.G. Tugs, jacks, hydraulic power packs, service carts and other assembly aids. + Perform toolbox audits to ensure technicians are properly checking out the tools. + Ensure teammates practice safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness/prevention and adhere to regulatory protocols and rules + Work collaboratively to achieve goals and/or complete assigned tasks **Required Skills and Experience** + High school diploma or equivalent + Minimum five years of experience as in an aerospace or equivalent high-reliability field with two years of experience working with inventory tool control, materials management, or related inventory Management function. + Two years of experienceleading and mentoring others and/ or demonstrated ability to lead and train on technical tasks and projects + Mechanically experienced with general maintenance and troubleshooting of complex systems. + Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form + Understanding of inventory management techniques. + Familiar with equipment, materials, and methods used in the production of Composite vehicles. + Demonstrated **a** bility to use computer applications to follow manufacturing work instructions + Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and/or models on paper or digital **Preferred Skills and Experience** + Strong general knowledge of hand tools and their functions. + Ensure accuracy of records + Track and document usage of tooling and supplies + Monitor inventory levels and work with supervisor to order as needed + Strong ability to communicate in a manner that is timely, respectful, and open to other ideas + Knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools a plus + Strong ability to get into the details, while maintaining a broader view + Strong safety forward thinking, practice good housekeeping, tool control, recognizing the importance of properly handling hazardous materials and chemicals + Familiar with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) + Experience in high technology, advanced materials or aerospace industries preferred + Strong experience with material movement and computerized inventory management + Required to stand for extended amounts of time. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $66,560.00–$95,160.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
