KBR is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Training Design and Development Facilitator to support the Naval Aviation Systems Command (NAVAIR) Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM) program. In this pivotal role, you will lead the creation and delivery of innovative, high-quality training programs, including both Computer-Based Training (CBT) and Instructor-Led Training (ILT), specifically tailored to the needs of naval aviation personnel. As a key member of the KBR team, you’ll leverage your expertise in task analysis, training needs assessment, and curriculum development to design effective learning solutions that support aviation system development and lifecycle management. You’ll collaborate with military subject matter experts and technical teams to ensure that our personnel are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate and maintain advanced aviation systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the creation, design, and implementation of both CBT and ILT programs for the AvPLM program, ensuring that training solutions align with the technical and operational requirements of NAVAIR and military stakeholders. Utilize task analysis techniques to identify specific training needs based on project processes, system updates, and evolving operational requirements. Gather and analyze data to develop comprehensive training strategies. Develop, author, and maintain written, graphic, and multimedia courseware for a variety of aviation-related training programs. This includes creating training modules for both introductory and advanced topics, ensuring that course materials are both accurate and engaging.Facilitate ILT sessions and manage the delivery of CBT programs, ensuring that content is effectively communicated to participants across various experience levels, from entry-level to advanced personnel.Work closely with NAVAIR technical experts, military personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure training content is technically accurate and aligned with operational needs.Implement evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of training programs and ensure continuous improvement. Provide feedback to stakeholders and adjust content as necessary to maintain training relevance and effectiveness.Manage training programs and projects, including timelines, resource allocation, and coordination between various teams. Ensure training objectives are met within budget and on schedule. Maintain and curate military aviation data to ensure standardization and alignment with NAVAIR’s global environmental and operational standards. Ensure that data integration across CBT and ILT systems supports optimal learning outcomes.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required. Current and active DOD Secret clearance, capable of obtaining TS/SCI clearance.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Aviation, Military Systems, Engineering, or Education. At least 5 years of experience in curriculum development, training design, and delivery, with a strong emphasis on military systems and aviation-related training.
Skills/Expertise:
Experience with task analysis techniques and requirements gathering to develop effective training solutions.Proven experience in managing, authoring, and maintaining CBT and ILT materials, particularly in a military or technical setting.Experience supporting aviation systems and knowledge of aviation warfare or military technologies is highly preferred.Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning development tools.Strong background in delivering training to both military and civilian personnel, with the ability to adapt content to different learning styles and experience levels.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, or training management are a plus.Military background or significant experience working with the Department of Defense, particularly with NAVAIR or aviation-related projects.Master Training Specialist qualification or similar military instructor certification.Experience managing large-scale training programs, especially in a complex, technical environment.Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or PMP certificationAttention to detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring all training materials meet high standards of accuracy and relevance.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and the use of technology in education.Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation: $65,000-100,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
