Lead Training Specialist

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:


• Create engaging, objective-aligned trainings and supplemental materials for both live trainings and e-learning modules
• Provide instructional design expertise and feedback during the creation of engaging, innovative, and effective trainings / materials
• Oversee the development of competencies, training matrices, and curriculum maps for a wide variety of employee roles
• As needed, communicate with Training Managers and Training Specialists regarding deliverables/expectations, deadlines, roadblocks, and other relevant information
• Assist with the development of long-term objectives and deadlines for the training group
• Review trainings and materials to ensure quality and effectiveness
• Serve as quality assurance to ensure that all trainings are properly coordinated, learners have received adequate communication, the LMS is accurate and up to date, materials are clear and professional, etc.
• Provide assistance to Training Specialists in order to ensure timeliness and quality of training deliverables
• Ensure all trainings teach towards objective-based assessments and focus on learners actively practicing skills, mastering objectives, and retaining information rather than passively absorbing information
• Identify high quality trainings from third parties that will address areas of need within the company
• Continually solicit feedback and gather metrics in order to update and improve trainings on an ongoing basis; ensure trainings are being properly updated according to internal process flows
• Coordinate with the Primoris Corporate Office in Houston, TX about training offerings
• Assist training specialists in determining effective objectives for each training and ensuring all assessments and learning materials align with these objectives
• Ensure all assessments effectively evaluate learners using the most realistic methods and questioning possible
• Effectively facilitate trainings at the Aurora Office and at remote construction site locations
• Work with training team to identify potential trainers at the Aurora Office and at remote construction site locations
• Train other trainers in various trainings and subjects; observe and coach trainers when needed.
• Work with training specialists to determine which types of lessons/modules will be most effective for each individual training
• When needed, assist L&D team in coordinating / scheduling trainings and communicating with leadership / learners in both the office and the field
• Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
• Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in instructional design
• Excellent skills in time management, working autonomously, creative thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and both verbal and written communication.
• Very strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Trained in backwards planning / ADDIE model / related techniques
• Proficiency in authoring tools such as Captivate, Storyline, iSpring, etc.
• Ability to navigate a basic LMS
• Proficiency in word processing, data collection, and presentation software
• Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers
• Proficient in capturing and editing videos
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in LMS management
• Knowledge of solar / construction fields
• Proficient in Spanish
• Proficient in Haitian Creole
