The Lead Paramedic will hold the responsibility of performing professional level work in planning, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating and managing the operations of interfacility transport and emergency medical care while ensuring compliance with applicable South Carolina statutes and administrative rules. What you will do in this role: + Provides direction, leadership and day-to-day supervision of the ES Transport EMTs and Paramedics. Guides the operations of dual licensed Registered Nurse/Paramedics and CCRN when performing critical care transports + Participates with staffing objectives by identifying, recruiting, and interviewing suitable candidates. + Assists the HCA Grand Strand Health EMS Medical Director with research, development, implementation, education, and enforcement of policies, procedures and guidelines which promote sound patient care. To include analyzing, drafting, coordination, preparation, and implementation of EMS guidelines + Assists with performance reviews and competency analyses to identify clinical training needs, crucial staff competency needs, and areas of improvement for the Transport team and individual personnel + Prepares educational and training material. Conducts in-service skills reviews, training sessions, and competency verification for Transport team and individual personnel + Assists with staffing of Transport team through selection, coaching, evaluation, development and recognizing of direct reports + Performs frequent and periodic reconciliation of Transport staff patient care reports to ensure policy compliance and exceptional patient care is being provided, as well as proper patient documentation is being recorded to meet or exceed HCA Grand Strand Health’s billing standards for reimbursement + Periodically presents metrics to the ES Transport Manager pertaining to EMS transports and related or pertinent data + Oversight of team usage of equipment, supplies, and technology to ensure quality, safety, and appropriate use of resources + Coordinates, delegates, and verifies completion of vehicle and equipment preventative maintenance and repairs What qualifications you will need: + SC Paramedic license required + DRIVING RECORD: This position requires driving an HCA owned vehicle. The candidate must provide a seven-year driving history from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles and have no more than six points on their record, with no indication of unsafe driving habits. + Minimum 3 years previous clinical experience with an advanced life support EMS systemrequired + Minimum 2 years of EMS leadership experience or in an EMS Instructor role is preferred + Experience with hospital based EMS and/or Emergency Department operations and policy/procedures is preferred + BLS-American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider issued card required + ACLS-American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS provider card required + PALS-American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS provider card required + EVOC-Emergency Vehicle Operations Course completion certificate, or equivalent required within 90 days of post-hire Grand Strand Medical Center has provided quality healthcare services since 1978, giving patient's access to highly-trained physicians and advanced technology.
