Lead Transporter - Patient Transportation

Responsible for overseeing the designated work site and workflow of Transporters. Services are provided to patients, visitors, and health care staff twenty-four hours/day and seven days/week.
+ Serves as a shift lead and resource to ensure patient and equipment transports are completed in a safe and timely manner.
+ Prioritizes work and communicates effectively with staff and management.
+ Evaluates work requirements and assignments, ensuring efficient use and distribution of scheduled workload.
+ Directs daily the patient and equipment transport workflows, providing problem resolution and troubleshooting issues to maximize effectiveness. Works efficiently to maintain high productivity, minimize idle time, and follow appropriate transport procedures.
+ Verifies the destination and identity of patient to be transported and/or equipment to be distributed by matching transport request information to the travel log or by other method if travel log is not available or appropriate.
+ Maintains inventory of supplies.
+ Resolves delays in service to maintain service levels.
+ Notifies department leadership of department issues.
+ Alerts nursing staff of patient transport and equipment issues.
+ Coordinates activities within assigned worksite and team maintains accurate reports and other paperwork and maintains good customer relations with employees and customers.
+ In conjunction with the department supervisors, provides complete, quality onboarding for newly hired team members.
+ Acts as a role model for transporters, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality. Exhibits the Medical Center ASPIRE values.
+ Performs specialized transport duties including morgue trips, body releases, managing viewings, and maintaining supply of oxygen tanks for transport use.
+ Ensures that equipment is clean and in good repair.
+ In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $15.00 - $22.01 Hourly
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
**Education:** High School Graduate or Equivalent
**Experience:** 2 years relevant experience
**Licensure:** American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Saver AED Course required within 90 days of hire.
CDL-P required within 6 months of hire.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling/standing/reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive) and driving (if appropriately licensed). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
