The pay range is $126,600.00 - $227,900.00

About the role:   

As a Lead UX Operations Manager supporting our Enterprise UX team you’ll be at the forefront of Target’s evolving merchandising capabilities to help shape the future of our vendor experiences and contributing to business growth. Our UX Design Operations practice focuses on the orchestration and optimization of the people, processes, and practice necessary to scale UX across the Target enterprise. You will lean on your design program management expertise to support and develop best practices for our UX team on how we work together, how we get work done, and how our work creates impact.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for creating efficient processes and measures that generate high-quality outputs to support scalable solutions for our user experience team. In collaboration with the UX leadership team, you will focus on establishing models that support the UX team in key areas like management reporting, metric development, communication, collaboration and tools management. You'll champion user-centered and design-thinking processes to solve complex problems with a highly cross-functional team.

Responsibilities: 

Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of UX leaders, product designers, content designers, engineers, product managers, accessibility consultants, data analysts and UX researchers

Establish clear processes for design delivery, defining who needs to review work and when

Lead the development and guardianship of standardized, scalable Design Operations processes across the organization, contributing best practices and adoptable ways of working that support the total enterprise

Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to define objectives and align desired outcomes

Develop and evolve UX team metrics to track progress, measure impact, and identify areas for improvement

Build and maintain systems for tracking individual and team utilization, identifying gaps, and supporting hiring plans

Establish and optimize design team workflows, ensuring alignment and consistency across communication frameworks, project templates, leadership routines, and resource management practices

Track and share progress with stakeholders to ensure continued adherence to processes and alignment with team goals

  

About you:   

7+years of experience in digital software product work, with inhouse or agency product design teams

A portfolio featuring design operations, program management

Demonstrated success in resource management and capacity planning, including tools and frameworks to support allocation and utilization tracking in a large matrixed organization

Analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable improvements

Strong facilitation and collaboration skills, with a talent for building relationships and driving alignment across disciplines and stakeholders

Able to work well in a large organization with many partners, with a demonstrated track record of building deep relationships and influencing peers and leaders

Comfort level working directly with team leadership to help determine the roadmap and prioritization for the team

Experience mentoring and upskilling more junior members of the team

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs.  A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.  A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
