Lead Valet Attendant/Bellman
**Position Summary:** As a Lead Valet Attendant/Bellman, you will oversee and support the Valet Department's daily operations, ensuring that all guests receive exceptional service. You will build and manage an effective team of Valet Attendants and Drivers, supervise traffic flow, and ensure the safe and efficient handling of guest vehicles and luggage. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining the resort’s AAA Four Diamond and Gun Lake Casino Resort’s “Unsurpassed Service” standards and creating a positive and lasting impression for our guests. Respect everyone, all persons, and all the things created. **Bravery** : To do what is right, even in the most difficult of times. **Honesty** : Be honest in every action and provide good feelings in your heart. **Wisdom** : We cherish knowledge; wisdom is used for the good of the people. **Humility** : Know that you are equal to everyone else, no better, no less. **In this Role:** + Assist in the overall day-to-day operation of the Valet Department. + Build an effective team of qualified and productive Valet Attendants to achieve positive departmental and property results. + Schedule and oversee team member breaks and lunches and recommend business-related early outs. + Monitor overall Valet Attendants’ and Drivers’ safe driving, job performance, and adherence to company policies and procedures. + Provide training and guidance to Valet Attendants and Drivers, ensuring they understand and meet service standards. + Manage and direct traffic flow in the lanes, ensuring the driveway is clear of any vehicles that need to be parked. + Record any damage that exists on a guest’s vehicle prior to accepting and parking it. + Properly and accurately park guests' vehicles in the correct parking lot spaces. + Lock guests’ vehicles and correctly secure the keys. + Return vehicles to guests promptly and in the same condition as when they were received. + Ensure all work areas are clean and well-organized. + Assess any accidents, injuries, and other situations that may arise, informing Security and the Hotel Supervisor/Manager immediately. + Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, offering assistance with their luggage. + Transport guest luggage to and from their rooms efficiently and carefully. + Provide guests with information about the resort’s amenities, services, and local attractions. + Assist guests with inquiries and provide directions as needed. + Assist and coordinate with the Hotel Supervisor the handling of bag pulls, reporting and distribution of Sales group luggage service charge. + Coordinate with the front desk and other departments to ensure guest requests are fulfilled promptly. + Handle guest opportunities and ensure their needs are met with courtesy and professionalism. + Operate the property’s vehicles to pick up and drop off VIP guests as requested. + Practice, support, and always promote the resort’s AAA Four Diamond and Gun Lake Casino Resort’s “Unsurpassed Service” standards. + Maintain a high level of personal grooming and uniform standards. + Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and all levels of management in both written and verbal form. + Drive both manual and automatic transmissions proficiently. + Perform other job duties as necessary or assigned by management to meet the business needs of the resort. **Essential Qualifications:** + Must be 18+ years of age. + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Two (2) plus years in a Casino environment with a focus on guest services and hospitality preferred. + Must have a valid Chauffeurs driver’s license from the state of Michigan and have a clean driving record. + Two (2) plus years of Valet experience in a Casino environment preferred. + Previous leadership experience preferred. + Must have basic math skills. + Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, innovative, flexible, task-oriented, and can work with minimal direction. + Well-developed interpersonal skills. **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to do extensive jogging, walking, standing, bending, sitting, and lifting. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. + Manual dexterity to operate foot and hand controls. + Requires normal, corrected vision range, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols. **Work Conditions:** Work is performed mostly outdoors and involves continuous exposure to high and low temperatures, sunlight, wet surfaces, and noise, and may experience second-hand smoke. At times, work is performed in the Hotel tower, where it could be hot, cold, humid, noisy, or bright. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, jog, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp. Tasks may be required to be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned areas. Work may entail trained chemical usage.
