Lead Value Engineer
Job Description SummaryValue Engineering, as part of the Product Team, is a practice focused on driving continuous cost-out and value optimization across GE Vernova Advanced Nuclear product offerings, with a near-term focus on the BWRX-300 Product. Members of the Value Engineering Team work together to identify improvements to features, functions & processes across the full portfolio for value optimization

Job DescriptionThe Lead Value Engineer on the Product Team will generate cost optimization ideas, build business cases, and influence the broader teams to execute plans to realize savings for the business. In addition to this, the employee will facilitate larger sessions to continually develop ideas to pursue. Nuclear experience is highly preferred. This role will mainly be focused on the BWRX-300 Product in the near-term, with opportunities to expand to additional products in the future.

Roles and Responsibilities

Generate cost optimization ideas through a rigorous cost data analysis and/or developing new approaches to established processesConduct analytics and parametric modeling to assist management teams in setting cost targets and to support the org in negotiation and translation into business case / projectsChampion the gated VE process with functional organizations (Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing) to drive resource allocation and pacing through the lifecycle of project ideas.  This will include ideation, business case development, activity planning, project management with execution teams, project execution & value realizationDrive implementation of project plans until full value capture across core systems, VE will conduct teardowns, ideate, and should-cost parts to identify potential for reducing cost and balancing value​Across non-core systems, VE will support the efforts of the Systems Architecture team.  This will include challenging specs and should-costing parts to identify potential for cost reductions (“make” components) and challenge supplier prices against best-in-class (“buy” components).Build and codify cost analysis knowledge and capabilitiesCreate long-term and sustainable products within GEH for generating business value through cost-out efforts

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a business-related disciplineMinimum 4 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry (design engineering, system management, business management, construction), or Power Plant Cost Estimating
