SUMMARY:
This position requires a strong team player. Will lead the Nissei One Step team, with support of the shift supervisor; by enforcing and overseeing safety practices, quality checks, lines productivity/efficiency and drive accountability. Effective communication and proactive attitude are other essential requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Practices and reinforces AMCOR safety procedures and practices. Will lead by example by always adhering essential PPE regulations. Prevent and report any unsafe situation or act to shift supervisor. Responsible for ensuring that quality tests are properly performed and completed on all lines as required by established QA processes. Interact with production team and mechanics to resolve any ongoing quality issue. Verify with quality tech that product is within established guidelines, once the issue is resolved. Complete and send quality alert; and document the issue and resolution in daily log. Maintain 5S housekeeping standards at all times and follow and reinforce GMP guidelines with the team.Coordinate any change overs (Mold, Color. ETC). Complete the essential documentation as required.Understand, analyze and troubleshoot product processing, equipment and Mold related issues.Seek assistance from shift mechanics and other team members if needed, to keep production lines running efficiently; share findings with team, if any and document any changes made.Serve as the primary contact to Shift Supervisor, communicate any unscheduled down time or any other updates required by shift supervisor.Provide coverage and support to the team as required by operational needs; should be able to manage conflict resolution with the support of shift supervisor. Coordinate proper handover to incoming shift. Verifies shift documents are properly completed and submitted. Report any open issues to following shift.Assist with change overs and starts-up qualification / first article testing. Support mechanics during PM’s and equipment maintenance.Should be flexible and available to work OT and other shifts as required by business needs.Qualification: High school diploma with at least six month of apprentice work. One-year certificate from college or technical school; or at least two years of work-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Plastic Industry desired. Hands on experience working with tools. Basic understanding of process and auxiliary equipment.
