Leader of Digital Claims Platform

Seeking a talented, self-motivated individual to lead the Digital Claims Platform which is central to our ongoing modernization effotrs.  The selected individual will work closely with application development teams, architects to ensure adherence to reference architecture and technology strategy.  The team supports product development by providing specialized software engineering services to integrate the insurance claims core systems into a single platform, developing shared components and leading software development implementation in new technologies and cloud-based applicaitons.  This role requires both technical and management leadership.  In addition to building a high-performing digital team, the selected individual will manage business and operations expectations, provide transparency and develop the best-in-class digital claims platform.  It is expected for the individual to have a proven track record in modernizing dev/ops practices to ensure consistency and best practices.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a global, geographically disbursed team.

Responsibilities:

Work with architects, development teams, information security and infrastructure teams to develop a scalable and resilient digital platform that can be easily expanded through a plug-in architecture. Work closely with business and operations teams to build close relationships, provide transparency, influence decisions and manage expectations and develop customer-centric solutions. Manage multiple projects concurrently across the regions. Ensure adherence to all development, change management and risk policies and SDLC requirements. Participate in technology strategy and planning initiatives. Adhere to and enforce all company development, risk and operational strategies and policies. Effectively plan and manage resources to deliver projects on time. Demonstrate high levels of professionalism and decorum. Demonstrate effective teamwork. Communicate effectively with internal personnel at all levels and with vendors and external clients.

 

At least 10 years’ experience delivering complex mission critical systems.Computer Science degree.  Experience managing geographically disbursed teams.Strong Java and Web development experience in a LINUX/Windows environment.Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.Ability to work effectively cross-organizationally.Attention to detail and ability to drive tasks to completion.Experience managing software development projects from initiation through implementation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of best practices and experience implementing or improving “Dev/Ops” capabilities.
