Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
**Role Purpose**
The Lean Technical role is a specialized position that focuses on implementing and maintaining lean principles within the organization's technical or production processes. This individual will work closely with various departments to identify inefficiencies, develop solutions, and streamline operations using lean methodologies.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Analyze current technical procedures to identify areas for improvement.
+ Implement lean techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping in the production process to enhance efficiency.
+ Train staff members on lean principles and oversee their implementation.
+ Monitor performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
+ Collaborate with management teams to align departmental goals with overall business objectives based on lean principles.
**Experiences/Education - Required**
+ Industrial, mechanical or mechatronics technical degree
+ Beginning job content knowledge
+ 0-2 years' work experience (Lean manufacturing)
**Experiences/Education - Desired**
+ Associates or Bachelors Degree
+ Successful track record of performance in previous work experiences
+ Basic English desired
