Learning and Development Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of company training, talent development, and performance management initiatives. Analyzes talent data to provide actionable insights to HR leaders. This position requires a detailed focus and data-driven approach, good organization and problem-solving ability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well cross-functionally. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Training and Talent Development.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supports the development of effective learning content and materials using a variety of learning methodologies to train, educate and develop Team Members at the Corporate Office, Stores and Distribution centers. Learning solutions include in-person training, virtual learning, and self-paced learning.  Manages and executes all scheduling logistics of Home Office new hire orientation and leads delivery of new hire orientation when needed. Updates all Orientation materials as required for all business segments (Distribution Centers, Field Operations and Home Office). Proactively suggests enhancements to provide a positive new hire experience.  Manages Team Member enrollment and maintains L&D records of programs/sessions ensuring accurate tracking of Team Member development efforts. Maintains training databases and generates reports for the company Learning Management System and Performance Management systems.    Works collaboratively in conjunction with the Learning and Development Trainer to assist in the development and execution of Talent Development programs, including the Performance Management Process, Talent Review, Intern Program and Behavioral Assessments.  Partners with the Instructional Designer and L&D trainer to build and maintain learn paths in the LMS system. Administers follow-up surveys as needed and analyzes reports on training program effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics.  Coordinates training logistics including scheduling and communications for in-person and virtual learning and development (L&D) initiatives Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field preferred. Equivalent experience is considered.  1-3 years of experience in the learning and development space including Learning Management System (LMS) administration and talent management program support.  Strong analytical capabilities and proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, One Note) Strong technical aptitude. Experience with Oracle or other HRIS configuration preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good organizational and time management skills Ability to engage in public speaking within the corporate environment Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, hybrid environment, and can manage multiple priorities while still focusing on being detail-oriented Ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functionally and maintain strong relationships  Ability to persist when dealing with ambiguity and derive creative solutions
