Join our team as a Learning and Development Specialist and contribute to shaping a positive work environment. The Specialist should possess strong project management skills as well as previous work experience in a learning environment.

 

The Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for administering, organizing, and conducting training and educational programs in connection with new employee onboarding, professional development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion programming. Training and development may occur in a classroom setting, virtually, or may be designed with a variety of learning tools and aids to encourage and sustain individual or team development. The Learning and Development Specialist will maintain records of training activities and employee progress as well as the effectiveness of the training programs delivered. As a member of the Employee Experience team, the Learning and Development Specialist will work under the direction of the Director of Employee Experience and will be responsible for other projects and duties as assigned.

Responsibilities Independently develop and deliver training programs.Schedule and coordinate training and development activities, including securing space and materials, identifying trainers/ moderators/ facilitators, logistics, documenting attendance, and coordinating promotional communications.Conduct pre-designed training programs as needed.Design, administer and analyze data from learning assessments and programs.Engage with a variety of committees and internal working groups to build mechanisms to receive employee input and support formal and informal employee experience efforts and activities.Build internal and external relationships with key individuals and organizations to identify opportunities for collaboration on employee experience efforts.Produce reports periodically to review metrics relating to the recruitment, development, and retention of employees.Assess organization needs and review data with leaders to develop or identify new programs to refine and shape employee experience strategies, policies and procedures.Support implementation efforts with ongoing and new programs

Qualifications

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree. 2-5 years professional experience or combination of educational and professional experience in training and development, including program design and evaluation.  Applied experience in traditional classroom training, facilitation and/or public speaking.Strong communications skills, including verbal and written skills.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective partnerships and collaborate at all levels of organization.Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.Ability to understand, summarize, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.Organization and project management skills.Skill and knowledge of current technology/applications, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint with the ability to produce professional presentations and materials.Commitment to principles of equity and inclusion.Willingness to travel to various Chestnut locations as needed. 

 

 

Desired Qualifications*

BA or MA in Organizational Psychology, Education, Human Resource Management, Instructional Design, or a related field. Knowledge and experience with on-line and blended learning design and delivery and familiarity with Articulate 360Knowledge of Human Resources rules and regulations. Experience in a health care setting.

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $49,000 - $55,000 annual salary. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.
