Mueller’s Learning & Development Manager will focus on the Company’s learning and development needs for various functions and roles, as determined by the business’s talent needs.
This role will be proactive in establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with, and providing support to, HR staff, management and the leadership teams at each Plant and the Corporate office.
The position requires ability to participate in the strategic design of programs as well as tactical execution.
The role will also be curator of culture as all development tools and programs will tie directly to Mueller Values and competencies. By leading the learning and development processes and initiatives, the Company’s talent needs and development opportunities for employees will be enhanced.
Responsibilities
Initial priorities and focus will include
Management of the Mueller Development Program (MDP)
Managing LinkedIn Learning relationship, process and tool
Developing an internship and co-op program.
Near future-state responsibilities will include
Lead the evaluation of talent needs and the assessment of talent gaps to determine a plan for closing talent gaps.
Collaborate with leaders, managers and HR to set priorities for content development based on current and emerging needs.
Develop and implement high-impact learning solutions that align with business goals, strategies, and meet all compliance requirements for operations and corporate roles. Initial focus will include front line supervisors, early career and leadership development.
Ensure development programs and training content aligns to support the business’s talent needs.
Review and update legacy training programs as needed.
Communicate and work effectively with field and corporate managers to drive training solution support and full utilization.
Partner with HR to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the programs on employee engagement, retention, performance, and learner satisfaction
Establish learning metrics and goals
Develop or approve budgets and operations for the training and development needs
Effectively communicate proactively and clearly to motivate and create engagement in others.
Communicate strategy and programs to internal stakeholders and solicit feedback.
Participate in the implementation of Workday’s LMS module

Requirements
BS/BA in related discipline (human resources, organizational development or a related field)
5 years of experience demonstrating creativity and technical ability as a practitioner
Experience training and developing a large, distributed workforce
Proven experience as a program director or a training and development manager in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated track record of introducing and driving programs leading to tangible and measurable results
Thorough understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design techniques, and evaluation methods
Excellent knowledge of various training delivery models, such as classroom, E-Learning, blended, etc.
Experience with and technical skills to support eLearning authoring tools, HRIS and LMS.
A strong passion for developing people and fostering a positive culture
Excellent communication skills - oral and written - and the interpersonal skills needed to quickly establish relationships of trust and collaboration.
Ability to interact with all levels of management, both internal and external customers
Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
Organized, flexible, and able to multi-task while maintaining a high level of efficiency and attention to detail
