We are looking for a Learning Development Manager to join our pre-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.
Expected to open inQ2 2025, Andaz Lisbon will offer guests an exciting new luxury lifestyle hotel in the Portuguese capital – and it will represent a key milestone in Hyatt’s continued brand growth in Southern Europe. Andaz Lisbon is set to become the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Lisbon.Located in the center of Lisbon’s bustling Baixa district and situated along the main pedestrian road, Rua Augusta, the hotel will be comprised of five separate buildings, including the former offices of one of the major banks in Portugal, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI). This central building of the hotel will offer 170 guestrooms, with the surrounding four satellite buildings of the hotel offering guests various private suites to choose from. This unique Urban Resort in the city center will allow guests to fully embrace the locale and experience authentic Lisbon.
About the role
You will be responsible for the efficient running of the Learning and Development in line with Hyatt’s and Andaz strategy and brand standards, helps dive company values and philosophy and ensures all training and development activities are strategically linked to the Hyatt’s and Andaz’s mission and vision. Work with DHR and Leadership team to identify and address employee and organization development needs. The position is responsible for ensuring effective training is in place to enable the achievement of desired business results. Training programs focus on a variety of topics, including product knowledge, company philosophy, and customer service and leadership skills. Conducts needs assessments, designs and develops training programs and facilitates the delivery of both custom and corporate training programs. Measures the effectiveness of training to ensure a return on investment.
Key responsibilities
Pre-Opening: Develop all the training materials for pre-opening training mandatory by Hyatt, Andaz and local legislation.Training Program Development:Design and implement training programs for new hires, ongoing employee development, and management training.Needs Assessment:Identify training needs through job analysis, career paths, and consultation with department heads to align with operational goals.Training Delivery:Conduct engaging training sessions, workshops, and seminars for staff across all departments, using a variety of instructional methods.Evaluation and Feedback:Monitor training effectiveness by gathering participant feedback and measuring improvements in employee performance.Onboarding Coordination:Develop comprehensive onboarding programs to help new employees integrate successfully into the hotel culture.Compliance Training:Ensure all employees complete necessary compliance and safety training in line with hotel policies and regulations.Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of employee training activities, certifications, and progress for audit and evaluation purposes.Policy compliance: assists DHR with preparation, compilation, implementation and upkeep of the policies.Administration: Assists the Director of Human Resources in the smooth and efficient running of the Human Resources Division, ensuring that all the policies and procedures outlined in the Departmental Operations Manual are strictly adhered to.Maintaining Employee Relations: Assists in maintaining effective employee communication channels in the propertyManage HR activities: Employee Awards, Events activities and etc.We are looking for a Learning Development Manager to join our pre-opening team at Andaz Lisbon.
