Job Summary: Provide guidance and support for a team of training specialists in the design and delivery of development programs that drive business success, meet compliance requirements and support leadership development for the Grand Canyon South Rim property. The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Pay: $60,000+ per year Schedule: may include weekends, evenings, and holidays. Housing: Eligible for a 2-bedroom unit at $506 per month. Responsibilities Supervise, guide, and support the work of our trainers in achieving training objectives across all departments, to include trainers of hospitality (Lodging/Retail/F&B), engineering, and interpretation. Meet weekly or as needed with training specialist team members. Monitor training program effectiveness, execution, and scheduling. Apply cross-utilization of trainers where applicable, for efficiency to achieve property wide needs. Collaborate with each director in meeting the specific training needs of their department. Develop and present courses on relevant leadership topics, to include management training, property training, DEI initiatives, etc. Serve as the resource for leadership development, providing tools and resources as needed and requested. Review, discuss, evaluate, and approve suggested training materials & topics brought forward by the training specialist(s) for possible inclusion in the training curriculums. Review training class presentations and provide feedback/coaching on training activities conducted by the training specialist(s) and other designated trainers. Maintain department staffing levels utilizing the property hiring process. Ensure that established company standard training programs are utilized as available. Ensure compliance with NPS Concessions Contract for all contractually required training. Review, approve and distribute monthly training calendar that optimizes efficiencies in scheduling and trainer resources to cover property-wide training needs. Work with the Interpretive Training Specialist and other vested parties within Xanterra to develop an interpretive training plan and strategy that meets requirements of the concession contract. As per corporate and property requirements, develop, schedule, administer, and track completion of core curriculum of management and park information and resource training classes that each salaried manager on property must complete within a designated time frame. Present classes as appropriate. Oversee administration of the company Learning Management System training tracking. Ensure trainers are appropriately utilizing the LMS and employees are aware of and successfully completing required training for their position. Give input to department directors, and complete annual performance reviews for direct reports, to include yearly goals and objectives for each. Administer annual financial plan for the training department and operate within budget. Conduct, streamline and consistently update the New Employee Orientation program as needed or directed. Ensure timely delivery per business demands and directive. Conduct various property training classes as needed and required. Coordinate and ensure 100% completion of property participants in the company Management Development Program. Partner with Corporate L&D team in supporting company training strategy. Collaborate with and support the Human Resources Management team in the overall objectives of the departmental units. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Five years proven team leadership in a Learning & Development environment. Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired. Adept at both online delivery of training utilizing a Learning Management System such as SABA, and classroom training. Program development experience and L&D leadership experience in a hospitality environment. Strong relationship and communication skills with the ability to convey ideas effectively to a variety of audiences including large groups. Hands-on management style with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Professional certification in Training, Hospitality or a related field desired, i.e. CHDT, CHT, SHRM-CP, etc. Experience with employee hiring process and new employee onboarding. Strong technical aptitude and highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Solid LMS competency and ability to quickly and effectively adapt to new systems and technical processes. Ability to measure the effectiveness of training initiatives. Ability to multitask and handle a fast pace of work. Possess or able to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License and comply with the company Driver Safety Program. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
