Learning & Engagement Programs Assistant (part-time temporary)

The Learning & Engagement Programmatic Assistant will provide programmatic support to the Learning & Engagement team and the Invention Convention Worldwide team for projects pertaining to the ICW programming and events while providing programmatic support for professional development and other programs. This is a temporary position that will last seven weeks from the end of April 21 through June 6. This is a hybrid position requiring the assistant to be able to work remotely for the first six weeks of the position and onsite for event prep and the event itself. Essential Responsibilities: Reviewing Submissions for ICW Events, and On-Site Support for Invention Convention U.S. Nationals + Reviewing submissions for ICW events (Invention Convention Michigan, Invention Convention U.S. Nationals, Independent Inventors Program) for various criteria including scoring submissions for originality, selecting candidates for interviews, gathering information for sponsors and partner judging, and collecting data for awards presentations. + Provide on-site support for the week of Invention Convention U.S. Nationals (June 2-6). Duties can and will include assembly of materials for participants, transport, and display of said materials, assisting with participant check-in, providing participants with information and wayfinding, assisting with judging finalization and award ceremony and script preparation. + Reviewing judge feedback for inventors. Programming Assistance for Learning and Engagement Team + Provide the Learning and Engagement Team with programming assistance, which can include administrative duties, onsite assistance for professional development, developing educational resources, and special projects as needed. + Assist the Learning & Engagement team with special projects and events as needed. + Create and communicate work plans as needed through regular updates and reports. + Share responsibility for housekeeping tasks related to the storage and office areas. + Contribute to the effective team management of all problems, issues, and opportunities. + Act as a team player and provide expertise within the team and other teams as appropriate. + Other duties as assigned. Your Qualifications: + Current undergraduate or graduate student + Experience working in an office setting or remotely + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) Special Skills: + Must be an enthusiastic team player and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment + Interest in nonprofit operations and innovation, invention, and entrepreneurial learning + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Please note that this job description is subject to modifications at any time to meet the evolving requirements of our institution.
