Learning Innovation Strategist

The People, Culture, and Belonging Division at Vanderbilt University is at the forefront of enriching employee experience, moments that matter and pioneering learning practices. Key Functions and Expected Performance:

• Spearhead innovative projects focusing on learning platforms and content development.
• Design strategies that enhance employees’ capabilities and abilities to uphold and advocate for our core values.
• Innovate, design and curate skill and competency-based learning and career paths to include digital and experiential learning opportunities that meet the needs of a diverse staff globally, preparing them for advancements and changes in their fields
• Transform business and experiential objectives into actionable, measurable, inventive strategies.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration to build consensus and drive collective vision and execution of Futures Learning Hub initiatives.
• Articulate and present data-driven, strategic insights through persuasive storytelling.
• Lead the development and prioritization of learning, development, and technology initiative roadmaps.
• Advocate for and oversee the realization of innovative ideas that advance staff capabilities.
• Champion measurable continuous improvement by optimizing people, processes, and technology, including AI, to democratize access and opportunity to learning, development, and growth opportunities across the organization.

• Additionally, undertake any other responsibilities as needed.
 

Supervisory Relationships:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility; this position reports administratively and functionally to the Vice Chancellor of People, Culture and Belonging.
 

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, writing, or related field or equivalent is required.

• A master’s degree in educational technology or related field preferred.
 

Experience and Skills:

• Over 8 years of experience in learning strategy, innovation, and user experience (UX) design.
• Demonstrated leadership in steering strategic discussions and influencing key decisions.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• A strong passion for leveraging technology to enhance learning and workplace outcomes.
• Proven ability to navigate uncertainty and build cross-organizational relationships, with demonstrated experience in applying technology research to enhance connectivity and foster a sense of belonging in diverse environments.
• Experience with design thinking methodologies and tools, such as workshop facilitation, problem definition, design principles, employee journey maps, employee personas, and competitive and current state analysis.
