Job Title: Learning Technology and Facilitation Specialist (LTFS)
Reporting Line: Director of Learning and Development
Location: Ontario, Milton or Burlington based, with approximately 15 – 25% travel required
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: The Learning Technology and Facilitation Specialist (LTFS) will be responsible for the overall management and administration of our Learning Management
System (LMS), ensuring it meets the organization’s training objectives. The LTFS will manage system customization, integrate external tools, troubleshoot technical issues, and monitor system performance, all while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. In addition to managing the LMS, the LTFS will facilitate internal development programs using best practices of Adult Learning principles. They will engage participants, guide discussions, and adapt content delivery to meet diverse learning needs, contributing directly to the professional growth of employees across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. LMS Administration:

Manage and maintain the LMS platform, including course setup, user management, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with subject matter experts to upload and organize content. Monitor and report on learner progress, course completions, and system usage. Develop and implement LMS policies, procedures, and best practices. Provide technical support and training for users of the LMS. Ensure system security and data privacy by managing access controls, monitoring for potential security threats, and adhering to relevant data protection regulations. Manage the integration of the LMS with other HR, learning, and productivity tools to create a seamless experience for users and streamline administrative processes.
 

2. Adult Learning Facilitation:

Facilitate engaging training sessions, in-person workshops, and webinars tailored to adult learners. Utilize various instructional strategies and technologies to enhance learning experiences. Assess the learning needs of adult learners and adjust facilitation techniques accordingly. Collaborate with instructional designers in their development of training workshops Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and collaboration. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvements. Leverage data analytics and learner progress reports to tailor training sessions, ensuring targeted interventions that address specific learning needs.

3. Continuous Improvement:

Stay current with trends in adult education, e-learning, and LMS technology. Seek feedback from learners and stakeholders to continuously improve the learning experience. Contribute to the overall learning strategy of the organization by identifying opportunities for new learning initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HR, IT, and L&D to ensure that learning initiatives align with broader organizational goals and strategies. Foster a culture of continuous learning by promoting LMS usage and communicating its benefits across the organization.


Qualifications:

Degree or Certification in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or equivalent experience. Experience with LMS administration (e.g., UKG, Schoox, Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, LMS365 or similar). Proven experience as an adult learning facilitator or trainer. Strong understanding of adult learning principles and facilitation techniques. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Technical proficiency with LMS and LXP technologies. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Must be fully bilingual, English and French.

 

Preferred Skills:

Certification in LMS administration, and facilitation. Knowledge of data analytics related to learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
