Lease Administrator

CSC owns and operates more than 10 retail, eCommerce, and wholesale brands, including Sur La Table, Backcountry, and One Kings Lane.
This role is challenging – above and beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll have a big role within a fast-paced team.   The ideal candidate will be based in the greater Chicago area or in Toronto and will have access to our downtown Chicago or Toronto offices. Our offices operate on a hybrid schedule with flexibility to work remotely several days a week. We are also open to candidates based in Mexico, where we have an existing fully remote team.  This position will report into the General Counsel & Chief Administrative Officer. What you get to do every day: Managing the commercial lease administration process and ensuring that all leases (including amendments, assignments, and subleases) are properly documented, tracked, and accounted for.  Reviewing and analyzing lease documents on behalf of the company.  Assisting with the negotiation of lease documents.  Tracking and preparing for lease renewals.  Identifying, and assisting with the implementation of, lease administration process improvements and recommendations, including with respect to key metrics and their tracking.  Researching landlord billing statements, communicating with landlords on any discrepancies relative to billing statements (as compared to lease documentation), and reconciling accounts as needed.  Supporting the legal, real estate, and facilities teams as and when necessary.  What you bring to the role: 3+ years of relevant experience with commercial lease administration, property management, or property accounting  Proven track record of accountability, attention to detail, and organization in a fast-paced environment Software proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Smartsheets, and Ironclad or other similar AI-powered CLM systems.  Proven ability to use AI tools to develop, streamline, and improve processes, including with respect to legal and financial document review and analysis.  Demonstrated ability and willingness to perform multi-functional tasks. Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal (in English). Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of individuals and work in a team environment. Ability to initiate process improvements. Self-motivation and a strong work ethic. What’s in it for you?
