LEASE AUDITOR

 

 

 

 

The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career.

The Lease Auditor schedules and performs all assigned lease audits relating to common area, real estate taxes and insurance.  This role also ensures the timely completion of the entire audit cycle, including pre-planning, conducting the audit, writing final reports based on findings, follow-ups, negotiations, recouping the Real Estate and CAM overages, and completing necessary accounting entries to recover overcharges.

Packages, review commercial Real Estate leases, and performs preliminary testing and audit work prior to performing audits.Performs lease audits at landlord's location which requires domestic travel.  Conducts exit conference in a professional manner and negotiate potential savings with landlord's representative(s), including Owners, CFO, Lawyers, CPA or Property Manager.Prepares audit reports and documents all audit exceptions referencing lease contract terms.  Submits audit report to landlord and tracks for future follow-up and written negotiation for resolution.Negotiates and collects audit findings with landlord.  Submits required paperwork to ensure accurate General Ledger coding for audit credits or payments. Assist the department in reducing CAM, Insurance and Real Estate Tax expenses by identifying discrepancies, variances and errors in the CAM billings and reconciliations.Contribute to overall annual department savings goal.Special projects as assigned.

Who We Are Looking For: You.

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar coursework required2+ years of auditing, accounting, real estate or property management experienceKnowledge of auditing techniques and accounting systemsKnowledge of basic real estate leasing (property administration or lease administration)Proficient with computers and excelStrong written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and comparative skills.

This position has a starting salary range of $60,500 to $75,600 per year.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
