CoStar’s Research team is the heart of CoStar, capturing market-critical information that enables our commercial real estate clients to make informed, high impact business decisions daily. CoStar Group’s research contributes to the most important segment of our economy, helping businesses open offices, retail stores, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities. CoStar Group is seeking an Lease Comp Manager to join our growing research organization.

As a Lease Comp Manager at CoStar Group, you will lead and develop a team of Lease Comp Researchers to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of abstracting detailed data points of real estate leases. This role combines leadership, quality assurance and process optimization to maintain data accuracy while delivering timely information to CoStar Group’s clients.  The ideal candidate is a skilled manager with expertise in team development, leadership, lease abstraction and process improvement.  

Responsibility:

Lead a team of Lease Comps Researchers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development.Maintain individual and team goals, track performance metrics and conduct regular performance reviews.Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment that emphasizes accountability and continuous improvement.Coordinate and manage the workload and activities of team members to ensure maximum productivity, efficiency and performance is achieved.Participate in collaborative development of training materials and ongoing development opportunities for the team.Actively coach team members to ensure consistent application of best practices and adherence to company standards.Serve as a resource for team members, answering questions and clarifying complex leases as needed.Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of abstracted lease data.Ensure the team consistently meets deadlines and productivity targets.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering, Product, Data Analytics, and other Research peers to align organizational objectives.Recommend and implement process or technology improvements to gain efficiencies and consistency where possible. Contribute to the vision of being a ‘center of excellence’ and ‘employer of choice’ through trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit University or College.A track record of commitment to prior employers.5+ years of previous experience leading a team of 6 or more individuals.3+ years of Microsoft Office Experience.Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lease structures, terms, financial concepts and legal documents.Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of coaching, development and motivating teams.Proficient in using lease management software and database systems.A track record of commitment to prior employers.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to articulate and execute corporate strategy, well-communicated with the ability to influence. Ability to interact at all levels and establish rapport with both internal and external stakeholders. 

Internal applicants are expected to have the following qualifications/experience combination:

Bachelor's degree required coupled with 3+ years of Commercial Real Estate experience.Currently a Senior or Principal Researcher.In good standing, no performance or behavioral corrective action.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance or Accounting.Master’s degree in Real Estate, Finance or Accounting.Experience with creating effective KRI’s and meeting performance metrics, being results oriented.Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Excel that includes the ability to manipulate data, filter, and develop basic formulas.  All qualified candidates will be given an assessment to demonstrate their knowledge.
