JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

The main purpose of this role is to work within our lease accounting group to produce accurate and timely financial statements for internal and external use.  This will mainly include lease accounting duties in accordance with ASC 842 standards. There will also be opportunities to work on special projects as they arise.  We are looking for someone who will work with fairly minimal oversight and can work well with teams.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the Accounting team in producing accurate and timely financial statementsEnsures the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principlesResearches and analyzes fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amountsLease analysis of newly executed contracts in lease accounting systemPrepare period financial analysis and reconciliations particularly related to Lease accounting.Preparation of monthly journal entries to record transactions in appropriate accounting periods.  Ensure all transactions are properly recorded in a timely and accurate mannerAssist with fiscal year-end financial reporting and audit requirements.Support and assist Manager and Senior Lease accountant on any special projects and reportsFlexibility and openness to work on a variety of assignments and projects as they ariseAbility to learn quickly; make an immediate impact, and provide value-added serviceStrong communication & interpersonal skills, displaying the ability to connect and build relationships with colleaguesTeam player with a strong desire to be an active, long-term participant in the growth of the brandMaintain confidentiality with regard to all information being proposed and developedWork with the accounting team to implement process and control improvements

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field2+ years of experience with demonstrated increasing responsibilitiesCPA candidate preferredExperience working with SEC registrants is a plusIn-depth understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply technical accounting issues to recording financial results Strong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsIntermediate/Advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel,Ability to work and research/resolve issues independently while sharing best practices and knowledge with colleaguesAbility to organize/manage multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business questions and needsExperience using Oracle and/or ProLease preferred
