**9503BR** **Position Title:** Leave Administrator **Organization:** HR-Benefits **Job Responsibilities:** + Communicates with employees on leave-related matters to facilitate a smooth and timely return to work. Facilitates communication between employees, managers, Payroll, and Human Resources during leave periods. Responds to inquiries submitted to the Leave inbox. Processes payments in the HRIS system and facilitates related work with Payroll. + Manages FMLA, Paid Family Leave, Parental leave, and Short- and Long-Term Disability. Serves as a subject matter expert on the interaction of federal and state leave laws for Paid Family Leave, and Short and Long-Term disability benefits. Serves as a resource to HR and senior leadership on complex policy and leave matters. Maintains knowledge of university policy and Federal, State and local law as well as the administrative requirements necessary to maintain compliance. + Reviews and oversees the leave administration process between the university and leave administration vendors from the employee’s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. + Advises managers on the interaction of federal and state leave laws and University paid time off relating to Paid Family Leave, Parental Leave, and Short and Long-Term disability benefits. + Creates and facilitates leave administration training programs for managers and employees. Administers policy updates, room access and troubleshooting. Serves as a backup for Workers’ Compensation claims administration. + Identifies business process improvement opportunities for customer service and efficiency improvements. Drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. + Partners with Risk Management, Public Safety, HR Business Partners, Payroll, Legal, Benefits and leadership teams to coordinate internal processes across all leave types from initial absence to return to work. + Other duties as assigned **FLSA Category:** Exempt **Requisition Number:** 9503BR **College/Division:** Finance & Administration **Required Application Documents:** Cover Letter, Curriculum Vitae or Resume, List of References **Employment Category:** Fulltime **Additional Details:** In compliance with NYS's Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is listed above. Creates, updates and maintains accurate records of disability, FMLA, and NYS PFL claims in support of benefits functions. Trains and advises university leaders on relevant federal, state and local laws regarding leave-based benefits. Serving as a subject matter expert on leave administration, interprets, communicates, and provides strong customer service to employees regarding university policy related to leave-based benefits.
