Overview The Leave of Absence (LOA) Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Manager- Benefits to oversee the administration of companywide leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those relating to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Military Leave, Personal LOA’s, and state and local leave laws. The LOA Coordinator works closely with HR, Payroll and Benefits to ensure leaves are properly monitored and tracked weekly. The position can be located in any of the following locations: Fargo, ND; Indianapolis, IN; Clinton, IN; Denver, CO, or Phoenix, AZ. Responsibilities Weekly tracks and enters all updates related to the MasTec leave programs for employees needing leave: Monitors and updates employee status in UKG Works with BMS to assist in benefit billing administration Oversees the process for employees returning to work after leave Works with payroll on tracking weekly paid and or unpaid time off Communicates with employees regarding their need for leave and/or modified work schedules. Works closely with benefits to help track missed deductions and deduction catch ups Ensures employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave. Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work Manages the LOA and FMLA programs with assistance from our 3rd party vendor Informs employees about how leave laws interact with other benefits May assist with other related benefits programs and processes Respond to employee questions as they relate to MasTec’s leave programs May serve as backup to Benefits Coordinator Identify process improvement opportunities to improve leave processes to create efficiencies and consistency across the segment.
