What you will be doing
The Centralized Leave of Absence (LOA) Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, developing, and motivating the LOA Supervisors and LOA Coordinators to deliver maximum customer satisfaction. The LOA Manager will serve as a subject matter expert to the LOA Supervisors, LOA Administrators, LOA Coordinators, HRIS, HR Business Partners, and employees on the leave of absence policies and processes for all types of continuous, reduced schedule, and intermittent leaves. The LOA Manager will serve as an escalation point for LOA Supervisors needing additional help or guidance with their projects and supervision of the LOA Administrators. The role will also assist senior management in resolving division leave issues, collaborating and assisting the HRIS Project Manager with planning and overseeing LOA technologies, overseeing the continued development of training materials for LOA, and working on special projects as assigned.

Main responsibilities
Manage, support, coach, develop, motivate and lead the LOA Coordinators to achieve optimum performance and comply with all company policies and procedures. Support, coach, develop, motivate, and lead the LOA Supervisors to achieve optimum performance and comply with all company policies and procedures. Serve as a subject matter expert resource for the LOA Supervisors, ensuring that their team is knowledgeable of state and local leave policy. Assist with continuous improvement in processes, policies, and development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), as needed. Assist with defining and implementing required analyses, identify system issues and problems, and recommend an approach to address them. Perform process and system analysis, identify procedural deficiencies, and recommend and implement technology solutions that support the team’s goals and initiatives. Collaborate with Business Analyst to support change management, communication, testing, configuration, research, solutioning and other complex end-to-end HR processes. Works closely with communications, training, and change management teams to successfully transition new processes and technology into effective operational delivery. Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide expertise and industry best practices related to improvement, business transformation, engagement model, and functional area. Provide reports and updates to TAFW Director regarding team member's performance and the team's production results. Devise, present, and conduct improvement plans as needed. Enhance reports, letters, and other artifacts as needed to achieve productivity goals. Responsible for enforcement of company policy through corrective action for immediate staff (as needed). Be knowledgeable of company policy inside and out and do not hesitate to address non-compliance. Attend / Conduct weekly meetings for planning hours, volume, staffing, and cost containment. Attend / Conduct weekly meetings for morale focus groups, shift meetings, positive news. Serve on interview panels and participate in the final selection of new administrators. Challenges assumptions and pushes teams to drive for operational excellence.
What we are searching for
Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferable.
Experience Level:
Two (2+) plus years of supervisory experience required. Four (4+) plus years of leave management experience in a large organization. One (1+) plus year of project management experience in a large organization. Four (4+) plus years of human resources or benefits operation. Emphasis on Federal and State compliance, such as FMLA, is desired.Skills and Experiences:
Extensive PC knowledge, specifically in MS Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, and internet / web browser applications. Strong Knowledge of Oracle HR modules, PeopleSoft HRMS application, or similar software. Specialized knowledge of leave management systems, especially ClaimVantage. Advanced knowledge of Federal, State, and Local Laws, Human Resource, and Benefits. Labor Relations and union environment experience a plus. Subject matter expert of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, HIPAA, and requirements of various states. Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment to balance competing priorities in meeting business deadlines. Strong ability to collaborate across various groups, build relationships and manage effectively in a matrix organization. Proven team player with excellent customer service skills. Must be able to manage confidential information. Solid judgment and decision-making skills to ensure all tasks are performed timely, legally, and ethically. Flexibility regarding work hours mandatory (24/7 department).
