Lecturer
Job Description:The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) Academic Advising Center (AAC) at the University of Florida seeks candidates for a Lecturer to coordinate undergraduate global engagement and international experiential learning programs. This is a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure accruing, renewable position to begin as early as summer 2024.
As a Lecturer, the candidate will be responsible for:
Instruction
Teaching typically consists of eight 1-credit courses per year at the undergraduate level, including a Global Pathways course for CLAS students. This position will have primary responsibility for course content and will teach sections of this course and other Beyond120 coursework in each term. Additional courses can include Global Culture, International Internship and Professional Pathways. Specific arrangements are dependent on unit/semester needs.Program Administration
Administration of the multiple Beyond120 study abroad programs. This includes promoting applications to the programs, oversight and administration of the programs, and international travel and teaching associated with some programs. Development, oversight and administration of other Beyond120 international programs, including international excursions and exchange programs. One-on-one coaching/advising for CLAS undergraduate students interested in global engagement opportunities, as well as workshops and special events for students. Advising incoming and outgoing exchange students. Assisting with registration, maintaining a course equivalency database and reviewing study abroad forms. Developing programming and resources for exchange students. Collaborating with college leadership and faculty to identify and promote student access to global engagement. Tracking and reporting trends in the number of CLAS students involved in undergraduate global engagement. Collaborating with the college’s Beyond120 team more generally in its mission of promoting experiential learning, career readiness, and professional development. Maintaining and updating the global-related pages and content on the Beyond120 website.Service
Collaborate with the International Center, CLAS departments and centers and serve as a liaison for Beyond120. Serve on departmental, college, and university committees. Identify opportunities to advance Beyond120, undergraduate global engagement, and experiential learning opportunities.Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.
