No If Temporary, enter End Date: Position Summary The Kinesiology Department at SUNY Cortland is accepting applications for a Full-time lecturer to teach four courses or 12 credit hours per semester and hold appropriate office hours. A full-time lecturer works under the direct supervision of the department chairperson and collaborates closely with faculty and staff within the department. Additional working relationships with faculty and staff in other college departments are possible. Major Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses on social, historical, philosophical, and sociological aspects of sport and exercise. Primary need is for Social Issues and Problems in Sport and Exercise. Other possible classes include Ethical Issues in Kinesiology, Youth Sports, Global Sports, Masculinity and Sports, and History and Philosophy of Sport and Physical Education.
Design and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments to ensure alignment with program goals.Work with department colleagues to contribute to program development and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives. Functional and Supervisory Relationships A full-time lecturer works under the direct supervision of the department chairperson and collaborates closely with faculty and staff within the department. Additional working relationships with faculty and staff in other college departments are possible. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Kinesiology or closely related field. Preferred Qualifications ABD or PhD in Kinesiology with a pedagogical emphasis in sport sociology.
