Lecturer or Lecturer Doctoral Schedule - Nursing **FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT** The Lehman College campus is located in Bronx, New York and is a Senior College within the City University of New York (CUNY) system. Lehman is a four-year public college in the Bronx and is recognized as a Hispanic-serving Institution. The college serves mainly undergraduate students preparing them for employment, the professions and further study. There is not expectation of a teaching load for this position; teaching is at the discretion of the Chairperson and the needs of the department of nursing. This position will primarily serve in the Simulation/Arts Laboratory. It is expected that candidates will provide service to the college, university and community is part of the mission as is a clear commitment to student engagement. The is no expectation for student advisement in this role, other than what may be required in the Simulation/Arts Laboratory. The Department of Nursing and is currently housed in the School of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing (HS2N). The School of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing currently includes six departments: Exercise Science and Recreation; Health Promotion and Nutrition Sciences; Health Equity, Administration & Technology; Social Work; Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, and Nursing. The school is also home to the CUNY Institute for Health Equity. Departments in the School actively engage with community and government partners to support evidence-based practices and health equity, with a special emphasis on urban populations. The faculty are also strongly committed to high quality teaching and preparation of ethical and skilled health and human service professionals. The Department of Nursing invites applications for a full-time Lecturer or Doctoral Lecturer’s position in the role of a Simulation Nurse in the Simulation/Arts Laboratory Center beginning Fall 2025. The Department of Nursing is seeking a candidate with a strong background in nursing simulation to guide students in the Nursing Simulation and Arts Laboratory Center. Candidates must have a strong commitment to nursing didactic and clinical education at the undergraduate and graduate level and must be able assist students with the transfer of nursing concepts learned from use of simulation. The candidate will be an experience simulation nurse who is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. The successful candidate reports directly to the Chairperson of Nursing. Essential Duties and responsibilities 1. Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses that are assigned by and at the discretion of the department chair and the candidate’s level of credentials and experience. 2. Participate in the day-to-day operation of the nursing simulation and arts laboratory 3. Provide faculty guidance and support in the development and delivery of simulation scenarios. Conduct training sessions to enhance faculty competency in simulation pedagogy and technology 4. Design and develop realistic simulation scenarios that reflect clinical practice settings and patient populations encountered in nursing. Ensure scenarios address various level of learner proficiency and promote critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills. 5. Coordinate with the Academic manager to develop assessment tools and criteria for evaluating student performance in simulation-based learning activities. Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of simulation experiences and make recommendations for improvement 6. Stay abreast of advancements in simulation technology and pedagogy 7. Foster partnerships with other healthcare discipline to facilitate interprofessional simulation experiences. Coordinate joint simulation activities to promote teamwork and communication skills among healthcare professionals 8. Experienced in the use of high and low fidelity simulations in adult & child nursing 9. Participate in departmental, school, and college meetings. Provide service to the department, school, college, and university as required for faculty permanency. **QUALIFICATIONS** SPECIFICE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in New York Demonstrated experience in nursing education, with a focus on simulation-based learning. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders as required Knowledge of simulation technology and equipment, including proficiency in simulation software applications Familiarity with CCNE accreditation standards and NYSED regulatory requirements for nursing education program **Lecturer** : Master’s degree in Nursing with the ability to teach successfully in the area of adult health and community - based care. Excellent organizational skills. Also required are demonstrated experience working in a large and diverse program, administrative skills, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. (Please note our accrediting bodies require a masters in nursing for BS programs). **Lecturer on a Doctoral Schedule:** PhD, EdD, or DNS’ degree in Nursing with the ability to teach successfully in the area of adult health and community-based care. Excellent organizational skills. Also required are demonstrated experience working in a large and diverse program, administrative skills, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
