We are looking for a highly qualified professional with outstanding academic credentials in the pedagogy and practice of Drama Education, Applied Drama, Theatre techniques, and Dance and Movement pedagogy.
The ideal candidate should possess adaptability and versatility to contribute to our initial teacher education programmes, postgraduate offerings, research initiatives, and community engagement activities across these three core areas. Job Description Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Drama in Education, Applied Drama, Theatre techniques and Dance and Movement pedagogy. Develop innovative curriculum and instructional materials Supervise and mentor post graduate students at Honours, Master s and Ph.D. levels. Conduct original research and publish scholarly works Participate in community outreach programs Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria to be appointed: Lecturer LevelAcademic QualificationsPh.D. in Drama in Education, Applied Drama, Theatre Techniques and Dance and Movement Subject Matter Expertise Knowledge of theories and practices in Drama in Education and Drama Pedagogy. Familiarity with current trends, research, and developments in Drama in Education initial teacher education
Curriculum Development Ability to contribute to curriculum innovation, design, and implementation of Drama in Education courses for Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase and Further Education and Training.
Teaching Capabilities Expertise in designing and implementing engaging, experiential drama-based curricula and instructional strategies across the Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase and Further Education and Training. Ability to model drama education teaching techniques and integrate drama pedagogy into teaching practices. Mentoring pre-service teachers during work integrated learning/ teaching experience Experience in employing various delivery modes to ensure high-quality teaching, learning practices and student experiences. Proficiency in digital technology and seamless integration of technology in teaching and research activities.
Relevant Experience 5 years teaching experience in a Foundation Phase and/or Intermediate Phase learning contexts. Experience in teaching in Higher Education (advantageous). Mentoring/supervision of undergraduate students on/Work Integrated Learning/ Teaching Experience. Demonstrated research capability or potential. Capacity to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students. The ability to work in a team.
Additional Details Co-ordinate and lead all Drama in Education courses across the school. Participate in academic administration, departmental governance, and school-level committees.

Senior Lecturer LevelAcademic Qualifications Ph.D. in Drama in Education and or Movement Studies
Subject Matter Expertise Knowledge of theories and practices in Drama in Education Applied Drama, Theatre Techniques and Dance and Movement Familiarity with current trends, research, and developments in Drama in Education initial teacher education.
Curriculum Development Demonstrate ability to lead curriculum innovation, design, and implementation of courses in Drama in Education for Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase and Further Education and Training. Expertise in integrating Drama Education techniques across the curriculum

Skilled in modelling drama teaching techniques and the integration of drama pedagogy into teaching practices. Ability to adapt drama pedagogy using educational technologies, innovative assessments, and interdisciplinary approaches to meet the diverse needs of learners and support interdisciplinary learning.
Relevant Experience 5 years teaching experience in Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase and Further Education and Training. 3 years experience in teaching in Higher Education. Supervision of undergraduate student placements on Teaching Experience/Work Integrated Learning. An established independent research profile and publication record in Drama in Education. A sustained record of undergraduate and postgraduate supervision in Drama in Education. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
