Primary responsibilities would include teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, production of research publications, supervision of postgraduate research, administrative responsibilities commensurate with the position.
Brief DescriptionRequirements: A PhD in Psychology or a closely related field For Lecturer: Proven research ability as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and/or research reports For Senior Lecturer: Evidence of significant research experience and scholarship, including recent peer-reviewed publications in accredited journals Teaching and research interests in neuropsychology/cognitive neuroscience Experience in teaching psychology at a tertiary level Registration with the HPCSA in the category of Neuropsychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Educational Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist for at least three years would be an advantage. Applicants who hold the appropriate HPCSA registration and have substantial progress towards a PhD (but have not yet graduated) may be considered.
This will be a permanent post subject to a three year probationary period.
Responsibilities: Teach courses in neuropsychology, cognitive psychology and/or cognitive neuroscience, research methods and/or psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate level; contributions to course-level curriculum development and transformation; academic administration; supervision of postgraduate students; willingness to pursue an active programme of research and research publication; and willingness to participate in the intellectual and public life of the school and university.
