VOA is seeking an Intern to support our Office of Legal Affairs by providing highly confidential, high-level and key support to our legal department. The selected candidate will be an integral member of the Legal Affairs team and Intern 2025 cohort team. The selected candidate will be flexible, self-directed and possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Ideal candidates will have excellent writing and communication skills, good time management, ability to stay on task and willing to learn new areas.
This position is full-time (up to 40 hours per week) and is completely On-Site
The internship is unpaid, however, a stipend is provided
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct legal research on various topics, such as state and Federal tax laws, corporate compliance and governance and HUD requirements Draft internal and external memos Develop and plan legal training sessions for internal staff and affiliates on various topics Review contracts Track and maintain current and pending litigation and task orders Opportunities for network building with internal and external legal counselsRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Passion for law and working for a mission-driven organization Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong oral and written communication, and collaboration skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and ExcelQualifications:

Education and Experience:
