Legal Assistant – Health Law

Responsibilities:Booking appointments/briefings with nurses and corporate Representatives.Scheduling meetings and/or questioning and mediations.Providing back-up for other assistants in their absence.Entering lawyer’s time.Billing, including client follow-up on outstanding A/R.Coordinating searches: Titles, encumbrances, plans, taxes & corporate.Submitting/Filing documents (i.e., LTO, Courthouse).Accessing online legal resources.Responding to internal and external requests.Meeting/liaising/reporting to clients.Organizing documents and binders.Ensuring the file management system is kept current.Submitting lawyer’s receipts for reimbursement.Managing the diarization of important dates.Overseeing the opening and closing of files as well as filing of physical documents.Preparing letters and legal documents as well as amending and comparing.
Qualifications:5+ years of experience.Recognized 2-year Legal Assistant Diploma.Experience working in litigation or the health law practice area.Advanced computer skills.Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.Excellent follow-up and bring-forward skills.Strong analytical skills problem-solving with minimal supervision.Ability to prioritize effectively and handle high-pressure deadlines.
